Waking up in the morning has always been
An interesting process for me…
First of all,
I wake up every morning with a song
playing in my head.
This all started in middle school,
When I used my radio setting on my alarm
clock.
Since then, my brain simply chooses a
song for me
To wake up to.
Sometimes it is completely random, or
something I have been listening to recently
Or my subconscious generates something
relatively significant.
This morning was “Pillow Talk” by Wild
Child.
Which is a truly lovely song.
this pillow talk
don't wake me up
my dream is done
i'm still in love
i know your fears
just lying here
i think i'll leave
please don't my dear
this pillow talk will wake me up
no matter what i'm dreaming.

Speaking of dreams…
The other day, I was walking barefoot in
the woods
Doing some earthing with a friend
(earthing will be a future post in itself
I promise)
And I stabbed my foot with a thorn.
It has been troublesome to walk on,
And the thorn is either tiny
Or it simply pushed dirt into a teeny
hole into my foot-
Which has been rather painful.
This morning,
I dreamt I was yet again trying to remove
this thorn.
In the dream I was sitting underneath a
light,
So my foot was very clearly lit.
-on a quick sidenote, I am in a biology
class
We do labs very frequently
And yesterday we did one involving
planeria,
Which are little tiny worms if you did
not already know…
-anyway,
I’m sitting,
looking at the bottom of my foot in dream
world,
My sole if you will,
And I see a tiny little dark line in the
cut
-I go after it with tweezers.
And it moves.
I try to pinch the end of the moving
squiggly line
Ever so gently,
So as not to break or tear it,
And the little line turns into what looks
like a tiny tail…
The tail grows a little bigger as more of
it comes out of the cut…
It is now the width of my finger,
And is light brown with spots on it…
The tail comes out.
But it’s still attached to something.
Something bigger yet…
Next thing I know,
I pull a baby octopus out of my foot.
Um
What?
Subconscious,
WHY?!
What are you telling me?!
The baby octopus flopped out,
onto the ground,
And I guess I was on a beach,
It tried to hide and the sand,
And of course I caught it and put it in a
jar
-to go show my friends
what I just pulled out of my foot.
